Description

Baton Rouge is a game of the Confederate attempt to retake the capital of Louisiana and its Union-occupied arsenal, garrisoned by a brigade under Brig. Gen. Thomas Williams. CSA Gen. John Breakinridge and his 2,500-man “army” was assured that they would be supported by the new “scourge” of the Mississippi, the much-feared Confederate ram, “Arkansas”. The resultant battle provides simulation possibilities not only for some unusual street fighting but, also rare, combined land-naval operations.

Three types of counters are used in the game: combat units (infantry, cavalry, artillery and their crews, plus naval vessels), non-combat units (leaders, and wagons), and informational markers. Baton Rouge is part of the Great Battles of the American Civil War series (GBACW). This series is an offshoot of the Terrible Swift Sword (TSS) system.

Components: 17x22” map, 100 counters
